⚙️ Changing Your Username? Update Your Custom Domain DNS!

If you have a custom domain mapped to your stck site and you're changing your username, it's crucial to understand that you'll need to update your DNS records to ensure your site remains accessible.

Here's the procedure to update your DNS records after a username change

  1. Access Settings: Click on the top-right menu ("hamburger" menu ☰) and select "Settings."

  2. Navigate to Custom Domain: On the Settings page, locate the "Custom Domain" section.

  3. Edit Domain Settings: Click on the "Edit" button within the Custom Domain section.

  4. Update Domain Name (if applicable) and DNS:

    1. If your custom domain name itself is changing along with your username: Select your domain name provider and enter the new domain name if prompted.

    2. If only your username is changing and the custom domain name remains the same: You'll likely need to update the existing DNS records (e.g., CNAME, A record) to reflect the new association with your changed username. Our system should provide instructions for this.

  5. Follow Provider-Specific Instructions: On the next page, you'll receive specific instructions tailored to your chosen domain provider (e.g., GoDaddy, Cloudflare, Namecheap). These instructions will guide you on how to modify the necessary DNS records (e.g., pointing your CNAME record to the new username's default domain, or updating an A record).
